I am sharing my experience below of how I found a job in UAE and wish it could help other job seekers, follow the simple steps, and You will get a perfect job in Dubai & UAE.
Make a list of companies
While you were in your home country, try to make as much contact as you can on social networking websites (Linkedin etc.) Don’s ask them directly for a job, just ask them about your scope. Try to interact with them to better understand the market for your field. Make a list of companies that may require your skill set and try to approach them. Never keep asking the same thing to your professional contacts, be humble to them. If they are not responding, may be they don’t know anything about that you have asked them, or may be they are busy in work.
Create a Perfect Resume: Your resume is arguably the most valuable piece of paper for your career. But this document can be daunting for many. Maybe you’re not sure how to fit in all your information onto one page. Perhaps you’re not sure about the right way to format and write your resume. Maybe you don’t even know what the heck a resume is!
Plan to come to UAE on 3 months Visit Visa: Job seekers should try to avoid coming to UAE during Ramadan time(April-May)as there are a few job opportunities at that time. Best months to look for job here in UAE are from October to February time. I have seen lots of vacancies during this time.
Move out of your comfort zone: If you want to get the best opportunity, go out of your comfort zone. Don’t sit at home and apply online for jobs, Rather you should interact with people of your field on LinkedIn and go out to meet them informally, not just for job, go to gain knowledge from them. Keep in touch with them later on. Attend conferences, exhibitions anything that will increase your professional network, which will surely build your confidence and help you in finding a right opportunity in this country.
Look for any internship program or any top-up courses: If you are not getting a good response for job, look for internship programs. There are many firms offering internships, some are paid also, though it is less but its a good start, at least you are getting experience of your field and building network. Trust me, your professional network is gonna help you in building your career here. Its tough here to get a dream job in UAE but not impossible. My Mantra to get a job here is keep yourself updated, Build a professional network, Go out of your comfort zone, join any less-paid or internship programme of your field, if not getting good response. This will surely paid off.
